Took a wander around the newly expanded Nelson-Atkins museum today and it's looking fantastic. Despite the barrage of criticism it appears that Steven Holl has delivered another masterpiece and that 2007 will be a great year for architecture in KC.

Alumni Gowns - Camp Fire USA Heartland Council
Camp Fire USA are a truly compassionate bunch who are quite wonderful to work for. I got the chance to photograph a selection of their collection of alumni gowns dating back into the twenties; tons of fun and I was very happy with the results; they'll be appearing in some 2007 fund raising mailings.

Barkley HQ - Barkley
Barkley just moved into a beautifully renovated office building in downtown KC and they wanted to capture the event. The cool rocket on the roof is a hangover from former tenants TWA, who used to have it there when it was their headquarters years ago. El Dorado headed up the renovation and had a replica built to restore the building to it's former aesthetic.

encompas - Barkley
Barkley designed a great logo for encompas that KEM STUDIO incorporated into a fantastic piece of exterior signage that Barkley entered in the Omni (Addy) competition entry (and won). So we got the call, took the photo and had a lot of fun. Kudos to KEM STUDIO for an excellent design of the exterior signage, interior and living spaces.

Downtown Architecture - Alistair Tutton Photography
Took a little walk around downtown to create some more stock photography. We're seeing a lot of development in downtown KC and I wanted to show the KC Star building, the H&R building and the new TWA rocket.

N Valentino - Blue Bike Architects
Down on the plaza Blue Bike have just finished off this beautiful retail store and we got an opportunity to shoot some delicious exterior shots. The 'toughy' was shooting the East facing exterior at sunset - we got the opportunity to break out the strobes and battery packs to light up the whole exterior.

Bigsby Mailer - Alistair Tutton Photography
A little bit of self-promotion this week. Bigsby provided me with his "best" side and we worked hard on capturing his drooly best. Great mailer and great leads, great jobs and great awards.

Mike Walker - Winntech
Mike and I have enjoyed a number of fantastic shoots for Winntech; both for their much-published remarkable design projects and also for the award-winning marketing imagery shown below.
"Alistair is a very talented and professional photographer. I have known Al for 5 years and have had the pleasure of working with him on several projects. Al was classically trained in architecture and has a passionate love for photography, this combination of training and passion has led him to be what I feel is one of the best up and coming photographers in the business."

Feng - Willoughby Design
Willoughby Design are one of the preeminent design studios in Kansas City; they're a fabulous boutique studio that have created some fabulous projects. One of my favorites is the Feng interior. It's an incredible store interior that has won many awards for both Feng and myself for marketing materials, interior design and even photography.

Saddle Ranch Chop House - Blue Bike Architects
Another fantastic interior from Blue Bike Architects; Saddle Ranch Chop House is a hugely successful country themed bar located in the Legends in Kansas City, KS. Definitely a fun time to photograph and visit; although I must admit Angela was far better on the mechanical bull than I!

Max Bus System - Willoughby Design
An interesting project was making the Max bus system look sexy. Great project that ended with us not only shooting the Max system but also a cool bus stop that El Dorado
architects had designed with the art work provided by local school kids.

Spin Pizza - 360 Architecture
One of the grooviest new restaurants in Kansas City. Spin Pizza is going from strength to strength with an incredible interior, fantastic branding and a super cool product. Lovely shoot, with an emphasis on shallow depth of field and natural lighting as well as some great staged and lit photographs.
