Kevin Fullerton: Springboard Creative

Kevin and I recently collaborated on his own website imagery and the Art+Copy Cheeky Awards collateral; he was an absolute pleasure to work with and really committed to the unique creative that we captured.

"While Alistair's great eye was what initially made me want to work with him, it was his highly-collaborative style that made me choose him. I came in with what I wanted, and he "plussed" it. What he added to the process made the final result exceed my expectations."

"I also work with Alistair on the Art+Copy board. He did an outstanding job as special events chair. He launched our newest event, the lifetime achievement award recognizing a creative individual in the Kansas City advertising community. The event was a huge success because Alistair threw himself into the project. I've seen him do that on several things. He just doesn't know how to do anything half-way. I look forward to a long working relationship with him."

Garmin Dining Facility - PGAV Architects

We just wrapped up a new shoot for PGAV. This was really good fun; the shoot had to happen at lunch time in the working dining room so that we would have food and people. Oh yeah and we had to light it. We got it done, with time to spare. Thanks to Garmin for all the help!

Kansas City Roller Warriors - In the Studio

UMKC based their final graphic design project on the Kansas City Roller Warriors and we got together to capture some fantastic imagery for them to use and an opportunity for the students to work with a photographer and draft their own creative brief.

The next Roller Warrior bout will be on the 31st May at Hale Arena.

Kansas City Roller Warriors - Back in Attack

I got a chance to see the mighty KC Roller Warriors in action last week and they rocked! It was tremendous fun and it really is an event well worth watching. I went along to the first bout of the season and the newly christened national champions lived up the billing.

The next bout will be on the 26th April at Hale Arena.

KCB; Williams & Williams Auctions - Anthem Media

This is one of the stranger shoots I've been on ; I got to spend a whole day tagging along with a team of Auctioneers from Williams & Williams and it was quite the experience. I was able to see several houses on the East side of Kansas City that I don't expect to see again in the near future and witness them being sold for as little as $1,000.00 then we went out to Bates City (it's that part of Kansas City just before we reach St Louis...) and saw a huge family house being picked up for a great price. I would definitely recommend checking out the auctions to see if you can find investment properties or even a new home and the team from Williams were superb to hang out with.

The Peanut - Urban Times

I've got to say that this one was great fun; I've always liked the wings and who doesn't love bacon? I had a superb time hanging out with the crew at the original peanut location on Main. If you haven't been there you're REALLY missing something that is unique and special in Kansas City. It's the oldest bar in Kansas City and has a ton of character and personality. Oh yeah and if you like soup forget it. Apparently they only have one soup; it's coffee flavored, only comes in a cup and tastes great with creamer...it made me giggle.

Gallery Night Mailers - Ad Club Kansas City

Another great Art+Copy event requires a wonderful mailer and that's where I came in. I had a wonderful time capturing some custom imagery to promote the "What's Your Outlet?" theme.

Home Design; Frank Lloyd Wright - Anthem Media

There are a couple of Frank Lloyd Wright projects in Kansas City and I finally got a chance to photograph one of them. This particular Frank Lloyd Wright house hasn't been photographed very often in the past so it was a unique opportunity to photograph an architectural masterpiece. The overall story was not just the house but also the Anthem Media party that was taking place that evening.

KC Mag; Chefs at Home - Anthem Media

What's better than photographing restaurant food reviews? Why it's photographing chefs at home! That rocks. Thanks to Blue Stem, the American and Room 39's chef owners for letting me come and visit them and photograph them at the dinner table. Thanks especially to Ted for teaching me the joy of bacon and brussels sprouts.

Wong Residence - Kansas City Homes & Gardens

This week we got a chance to work with Kansas City Homes & Gardens and photograph a beautiful interior located in Mission, KS. The design is a collaboration between Bill Poole at Driftworks and the owner Jean Paul Wong of Contract Furnishings; both with an eye for contemporary design. The result is two fantastic fireplaces and a wonderfully detailed finish.
