DIFFA - Dining by Design

Following on from photographing Richard Manes' birthday I was invited to capture the 2008 DIFFA Dining by Design event. This is a fabulous event featuring a whole series of tables designed with extremely unique themes. The ticket sales and a silent auction all raise money for the DIFFA charity and it's a staple event in the Kansas City social calendar.

Garmin Dining Facility - PGAV Architects

We just wrapped up a new shoot for PGAV. This was really good fun; the shoot had to happen at lunch time in the working dining room so that we would have food and people. Oh yeah and we had to light it. We got it done, with time to spare. Thanks to Garmin for all the help!

Westlake Ace Hardware - Blacktop Creative

In the start of a year long project we spent a long night making a beautiful Westlake Ace Hardware store absolutely perfect. We tweaked and teased it and showed it in just the right light to ensure that the new signage, designed by Blacktop Creative, would be shown in context. Throughout the year I'll be capturing new signage and merchandising set-ups as the seasons change and new ideas hit the shelves.

Price Chopper - Associated Wholesale Grocers

After a brand new Price Chopper was built all the way out in Raymore I got the chance to get out there and photograph it for Associated Wholesale Grocers. It's a really cool interior and definitely worth checking out...if you're out in Raymore.

Mike Walker - Wedding

I am not a wedding photographer; I repeat I am not a wedding photographer. But occasionally I take photos at a wedding for a friend. And this was a really fun one. It's an old co-worker of mine who chose the Crossroads Amphitheater as the location; which gave us some great shots in Stretch's studio.

Congratulations to Stephanie and Mike!

Sprint Studio - Sprint Nextel

The third in the series of shoots we did for the Sprint Studio was an overall shoot to capture the entire store and carefully position people to really show the space. Thanks to all the Sprint folk, Neil, Ryan and the wonderful Sarah for making a long night into a wonderful event. With great images to show for it.

Kansas City Roller Warriors - In the Studio

UMKC based their final graphic design project on the Kansas City Roller Warriors and we got together to capture some fantastic imagery for them to use and an opportunity for the students to work with a photographer and draft their own creative brief.

The next Roller Warrior bout will be on the 31st May at Hale Arena.

Sprint Studio - Sprint Nextel

After the NASCAR presentation the Studio was swapped out for a great NCAA Basketball theme and we had another chance to photograph the Sprint Studio and I was really happy with the results of recording this new set-up.

Size Is Important...

So I broke down and got a new toy; or rather I realized the need to purchase another essential photographic tool. This time it's a 9' tall tripod. And what the heck do you do with a 9' tall tripod; well you take those photos where you have to be up really high. In this case I will have an example to show you all in a couple of days from the very first shoot I had after purchasing it - always nice to immediately use the new toy/essential photographic tool.

Oh yeah and that's my beautiful girl Quoia - she rocks.

Downtown Architecture - Alistair Tutton Photography

It's been a LONG TIME since I had an opportunity to simply walk through downtown Kansas City and I had a wonderful time checking out some of the new projects and really enjoyed seeing how the city is becoming such an incredible place. Thanks to Alex Grigsby for his company.

007 Basement - Kansas City Homes & Gardens

Another fantastic shoot for the quite simply wonderful Andrea Darr and Kansas City Homes & Gardens. This time we got to photograph an incredible basement with all sorts of wonderful features; hidden doors, revolving drinks cabinets, a home theatre, a wonderful kids work room, a retractable flat-screen and a killer games room.

Something's Fishy...

Angela and I got together working on a new idea for some promotional images and we grabbed two of her beautiful Betta fish. If you've seen our fish collection you know you'll be seeing some more of these images in the near future...

Kansas City Roller Warriors - Back in Attack

I got a chance to see the mighty KC Roller Warriors in action last week and they rocked! It was tremendous fun and it really is an event well worth watching. I went along to the first bout of the season and the newly christened national champions lived up the billing.

The next bout will be on the 26th April at Hale Arena.
